Emerald Expositions is seeking a Social Media Manager to develop strategies to grow our audience and increase engagement across our social profiles. You will be a vital part of the marketing team in charge of execution and evaluation of our social media channels and audience outreach plans that serve the Creative Group of our portfolio which includes WPPI – Wedding & Portrait Photography International, PHOTOPLUS, PDN, and Rangefinder, HOW Design Live, and InterDrone. You will work closely with the Director of Marketing and publication Editors in the planning, creation, and execution of various digital marketing tactics, community development, and programs to support the multiple brands’ strategic objectives.

The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing social media posts and corresponding statistics, strategic distribution of content through various digital channels, and fostering social channel growth and community engagement across the brands. This role will interact with key personnel including Marketing, Editorial, Conference and Custom Media to execute on key digital marketing campaigns. They will be serving a visually sophisticated, creative audience with a hunger for community.


  • Curate editorial content for social channel distribution for photo publications, group tradeshows, and blogs including,,,,,, and others.
  • Track and evaluate engagement in order to inform future campaigns and strategies.
  • Manage social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and develop new strategies to increase interaction.
  • Work closely with Marketing Managers and Editors in order to develop comprehensive digital content and social media strategies for advertisers and sponsors of custom content.
  • Leverage current branding and positioning to communicate with a unique voice for each brand’s network.
  • Work with the graphic design team to create, post and edit social content including banners, text, links, graphics, video, audio, and asset libraries.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the websites’ character and performance – ensure links work, monitor content, identify technical problems and improve usability/interactivity as needed.
  • Conceive new products based on existing and emerging technologies and trends
  • Define KPIs by channel and devise strategies to meet established goals.
  • Create new methods to engage with brand audiences, podcasts, webinars, AMAs, etc.
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network of brand advocates.
  • Coordinate with all necessary stakeholders to meet sponsor requirements and campaign deadlines.
  • Conduct research into new strategies and trends to increase the effectiveness of campaigns.


  • BS /BA Degree in Marketing, Business, New Media or Communications preferred.
  • 3+ years marketing experience required
  • Copywriting experience with samples of recent work
  • Experience with social media tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, etc.
  • Strong project management, writing and reporting skills
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates flexibility in time and attitude to get the job done
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactively applies best practices from other assignments that improve process or performance
  • Handles immediate requests for information providing utmost level of customer service and information
  • Keeps current on industry trends and is familiar with industry in which they focus as well as customer needs in those markets
  • Attends all shows and provides on-site support as assigned
  • Administrative responsibilities such as processing invoices, budget reconciliation, customer
  • service, and other duties

Please note that we are flexible on location for this position to include our offices in New York City, Framingham, MA, or a remote option.
