Job Description

Community Brands is a software company that helps organizations achieve social good. Through our technology, we assist more than 100,000 associations, nonprofits, K-12 schools, faith-based organizations, and partners grow stronger and achieve their missions. Like our clients, our nearly 2,200+ employees strive to improve the world in which they live, and we believe that technology plays an important role in that. We are techies and volunteers who dream big and are motivated by more than just a cool job (though that’s a great perk). The Community Brands culture is one where employees can pursue this passion as part of their profession, and we’re looking for great employees to join us!

This is a position for someone who loves technology and is driven to create solutions that provide an exceptional user experience and delight customers. Our suite of SaaS solutions is focused on integrating best-in-class tools to help our more than 4,000 private K-12 school customers thrive in today’s diverse and fast-paced education environment. We are currently looking for a Product Manager to head our growing Enterprise Student Information System portfolio.

A Day in the Life

In this position you will focus on our product offerings that support the needs of our largest and most complex schools. Specifically, you will build solutions for a variety of users from school administrators, teachers and staff to parents and students. You will work on the user experience in enrollment, academics, report cards, scheduling, parent and student CRM data management and reporting. As a product manager you will be a central communication point and enabler internally with our sales and marketing, customer support and development teams helping to define and execute a strategic product road map. You will report to the General Manager for this specific business unit.

In this role you’ll:

  • Have a deep understanding of the goals, needs, and operation of a private school, identifying the challenges our schools face and how to help them meet their strategic organizational goals
  • Define and communicate road map vision and execution to internal and external communities
  • Evaluate the business return on new feature investments and prioritize features based on multiple criteria
  • Translate business needs into product requirements
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in user experience for both existing features and features under development
  • Work hand-in-hand with the technology leads in the engineering groups to ensure that requirements are understood, met, and delivered on time
  • Take complex and large projects and define and manage them to successful outcomes
  • Work with Product Marketing to define product pricing and packaging to hit revenue and profitability goals
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and new channel opportunities
  • Partner with field sales teams and deliver quarterly sales training updates
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Assist in building sales tools and collateral
  • Act as a leader within the company

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 3 + years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Proven experience as a product manager for a SaaS product
  • Proven experience as a product manager for mobile products (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of the K-12 market, school software, and Edtech software practices
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Experience and skill working effectively in a matrix management environment
  • Proven experience solving technology problems along with a high comfort level working with development teams using agile/scrum methodologies
  • An innovative spirit—always looking to find better and new ways to solve problems
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Lots of energy, a strong entrepreneurial attitude, and excitement about being part of a team
  • MS, MBA or BS degree
